My name is Tara D. Wallace. I am a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker. I hold certifications in trauma therapy; cognitive behavioral therapy; movement trauma, maternal health, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. I am also a registered yoga teacher and certified spiritual life coach.

As a therapist, I have witnessed the impact racialized trauma can have on the lives of minority individuals. Symptoms may linger under the surface without the individual being aware of how deeply they have been affected until some experience or person brings it to the surface. In that moment they experience an intense emotional reaction.

I have also witnessed the difficulty low-access communities experience accessing valuable resources because individuals or systems deem them unworthy of any effort to make them available.  And this is my "Why". Together we tap into resources, both internal and external, to help individuals reach their full potential.

No one has the right to determine another person's inherent value or worth, or their need to access resources that will sustain their ability to survive or thrive. If you have been blessed to be part of someone's journey, share in it, don't become a roadblock or cause them to stumble. Our journeys are different because we are all gifted differently.

"I am passionate about everything in my life -- first and foremost, passionate about ideas. And that's a dangerous person to be in this society, not just because I'm a woman, but because it's such a fundamentally anti-intellectual, anti-critical thinking society." bell hooks

“If I didn't define myself for myself, I would be crunched into other people's fantasies for me and eaten alive.”
